Throughout the process of crafting the FY 2010 budget, Governor Barbour has advocated the creation of a realistic, working plan for utilizing the taxpayers’ money. The budget for the coming fiscal year, as proposed by the governor, is very conservative, and necessarily so. While Governor Barbour always has pushed for careful use of tax dollars, that mission becomes even more critical in light of the fact that the current recession will continue to impact the state’s coffers well after the recession has ended.
At the same time, Governor Barbour is deeply committed to public education. His proposed budget makes unprecedented allocations to Mississippi’s public schools.
Please look over the attached document. It accurately reflects Governor Barbour’s stance on the budget. Take the opportunity to become involved in state government by contacting your state representative and state senator. Let them know you want them to make responsible votes that take into account the FY 2010 budget – and state budgets to follow.
Paul (The Guru) Tarver joins Bill Smith and Dumpster Dog to promote and encourage the recognition of Memorial Day and all it means. Since the beginning of our great country, freedom has been paid for and guaranteed by the blood of those willing to defend and die for us. No greater gift could have been given to each and every one of us and this show is our opportunity to say “Thank You!” Paul tells his great-uncle’s story of being a POW in World War II and Ken Storms joins the show to talk about our Veterans and the Run For The Wall that recently passed through Meridian on their way to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.
This is a show that you’ll want to pass along to your friends and family!
