Eddie
Smith has served the Meridian area 43 years.
Eddie was
born in Greenwood, Ms. in 1935
to William
Woodbridge and Edna DeJarnette Smith.
He worked
in radio in Greenwood
and then
Columbus, Ms.
He married
Jane Mills in 1960
and they
moved to Meridian
from
Columbus
in 1961
where he
was hired as a salesman
and
announcer
at WMOX.
Eddie
became
General Manager in the late sixties
and later
purchased the station.
He has
worked
for the improvement of Meridian
for four
decades.
Possibly
the most recognized name in Meridian,
Eddie
continues
to strive to help Meridian
become a
better community.
His wife,
Jane,
who for
many years produced a talk show,
"Time Out
for Jane,"
also works
towards improving
Meridian
and Lauderdale County.
Eddie has
six children;
Kathy
