Crestwood T-Ball Registration

The Downtown Optimist Club announces that registration for the 2009 Season of Crestwood T-Ball will begin soon! Crestwood T-Ball games will be held at Crestwood fields during the month of July starting July 6, 2009. The number of teams playing this year will be determined by the number of participants who register. Trophies will be given to all players at the end of the season.

Registration will take place at Crestwood Baseball Field. Children ages 4 to 6 are encouraged to participate. Cost is $60 per child ($50 for each additional child in the same family) and includes a jersey and baseball cap for each child. Parents are also encouraged to attend and participate in the coaching and will be given an opportunity to volunteer during the registration process. A registration form is available from the DTOC website at http://www.dtoc.org.

Crestwood T-Ball Registration will be held at four separate times:

* Thursday, June 4 – 5:30pm to 7:00pm
* Friday, June 5 – 5:30pm to 7:00pm
* Saturday, June 6 – 8:00am to 10:00am
* Thursday, June 11 – 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Parents may also register at the offices of Meridian Parks & Recreation.

“We are pleased to announce another season of Crestwood T-Ball!” said Colby Calcote, DTOC President “T-Ball is a great way for children to bond not only with their parents, but with teammates as well. It is a great way to build character and encouragement with friends both on and off the diamond. As Downtown Optimist Club members, we are proud to be Friends of Youth!” Calcote went on to say, “Our program is unique in that the DTOC is fortunate to have several former college baseball players as members who will be working to make the children’s T-Ball experience not only fun, but educational as well.” If your child is between the ages of 4 and 6, take this opportunity to sign up for Crestwood T-Ball. Learning the game of baseball is just as much fun as playing it! The DownTown Optimist Club has been supporting youth programs such as Junior Golf and Youth Baseball programs in the Meridian area for over 60 years.
