Matthew Perdie Is ComingBy
So, who is Matthew Perdie? I hear you say! Well, the short answer is that Perdie is a 24-year old young man who decided to stage his very own protest march all the way across America. He started on June 22nd (the same day I might add that MeridianTeaParty.com got started!) at the most northeastern tip of Long Island, NY and so far has walked over 1,500 miles carrying a backpack, a U.S. Flag and a big stick!
His website is http://www.perdie.com/. Perdie carries a personal GPS and has a link on his website so everyone can keep up with where he is at any particular point in the trip. As I write this, he is in York, AL and will enter Mississippi today.
We got a call this morning from a fellow patriot in Atlanta, GA telling us about Perdie and asking us to help keep him safe as he crosses into Mississippi and WE ARE UP TO THE CHALLENGE! Perdie will be staying in Meridian for a couple of days before heading to Jackson. Hopefully we can get him re-stocked and rested to make that long trek across I-20. MeridianTeaParty.com will be hosting Perdie for the first night, but if anyone wants to help us cover the costs of a hotel room for the second night or if you’d like to have Perdie stay in your home and get to know him, please call 601-207-0832 and let us know how you’d like to help. Mississippi Hospitality dictates that we feed him well and make sure he feels welcome. You can also reply to this email if you’d like to help.
We are considering setting up a time and place for those who would like to come and meet Perdie, but we’ll send out another email about that once we get something set up. In the meantime, go to www.MeridianTeaParty.com and watch the short video we’ve posted on our site about Perdie’s Trek. Perdie is a film maker and is filming some of his encounters with real Americans and will be posting them on his website.
So, why would someone do this? Here’s Perdie’s answer in his own words:
“To walk across the United States of America, while spreading awareness of the dangers of massive government spending to the American people, and show everyone who and what is really out there in the United States of America.”
