Meridian Asperger’s Connection (MAC) is a group of people in Meridian, Mississippi and Lauderdale County. The group was created to provide a local network of people helping people with Asperger’s Syndrome.
Our mission is to connect, guide and unite those with Asperger’s and their families on a local level. “Our goal is to short-cut the uphill battle individuals and families undertake when faced with Asperger’s in the East-Central area of Mississippi.”
Asperger’s Syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Although not required for diagnosis, physical clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported. If you have Asperger’s, you are brilliant!
