New MPSD School Board Members Approved

After serving 35 years in education, 27 of which were spent in the Meridian Public School District, Dr. Don Evans finds himself back in a capacity in which he can help influence the educational progress of city students.
Evans, along with Dr. Judith Miller and Teresa Hodges were all confirmed Tuesday by the Meridian City Council as new members of the Meridian School Board. The confirmations followed after Mayor Cheri Barry presented the three longtime educators as her appointees to the positions. Barry told the council these three people were the best qualified among many candidates the newly created Educational Advisory Committee and Community Education Advisory Volunteer Group interviewed for the school board positions.
