I’m confused by Mr. Shields statement “I really took offense to what WTOK had to say last night because it was trying to blame this budget shortfall on Anderson’s Hospital”…After watching the same story several times, nowhere in the story did WTOK take the stance of blaming Anderson’s Hospital nor anyone else for that matter. The only verbal statement that directly came from WTOK was “Representatives of Meridian and Lauderdale County conducted a monthly meeting this morning at City Hall. The formal sessions are held each month to talk about issues that effect all residents. County Supervisor Joe Norwood said elected leaders learned today that the merger of Anderson and Riley Hospitals will mean a million dollars less in tax revenue”…”Mayor Berry says it’s obvious the two entities can serve the community better by working together”…
I’m not sure how Mr Shields got the notion of WTOK blaming Anderson’s Hospital for the shortfall when all WTOK did was report on a meeting between elected officials.

I just wanted to follow up by thanking Mr. Shields for clarifying his statement and to also thank WMOX for giving me the opportunity to question him and giving him the opportunity to answer. Thanks again!
